What Happened When They Left Villa?
1 ) Benito Carbone He was a big favourite amongst most Villa fans for the short time he played for us, but where did he go after? Quite a few clubs, and although he announced his retirement last year, he's back with Italian second division side Pavia, he must get air miles, and get bored very quickly. 1999-2000 - Aston Villa - apps - 23 2000-2001 - Bradford City - apps - 42 2001-2002 - Derby County - apps - 13 2002 - Boro - apps - 13 2002-2003 - Como - apps - 22 2003-2004 - Parma apps - 19 2004-2005 - Catanzaro - apps - 27 2005-2006 - Vicenza - apps - 28 2006 - Sydney FC - apps - 3 2007 - Pavia - apps - ? 2) John Burridge. He played for Villa from 1975 - 1977, and was a source of entertainment with his keep fit exercises during games at Villa park. He then went on to play for 26 league, and non league clubs, after being loaned out to Southend. Burridge played in goal for Man City in 94 - 95 and at the age of 43, was the oldest player to appear in the Premier League. Burridge now works as a goal-keeping coach for Al-Ain football club in the UAE. He is also a part time guest for an English Premier League show on the regional sports channel ART Prime Sports.
