Villa v Santos
Does anyone remember when Villa played the mighty Santos.....Pele, Rivalino, Jahrzinio..et al? I bunked off school and stood in line all day...Villa won 2-1, but the UK was on a 3 day week,courtesy of the government...Villa hired generators to power the old AV floodlights...the first half was played using 2 of the 4...Santos wouldn't play the second half because Villa got all 4 working and they claimed it was to bright... We turned off 2 of them and the game resumed. A great game with 70 odd thousand in attendance....Oh happy days :D :D :D Ps:- I still have the program :D

Yes, I remember the game! I was young but managed to go down. I used to live about four miles away and remember the side streets all the way to VP being packed; I had never seen so many car or people! I remember the atmosphere and only some of the floodlights working, I also remember getting a bag of scratchings from the chipy on the way home, and I think I paid a hapenny.
