Steve Mac did well with players like Zenden, Viduka and Hasselbaink and Gareth with the same with Woodgate, Young and O'Neil. What do you think of transfers in, and out, by Boro managers over the past few seasons? I think we have stopped splashing cash left right and centre as we did at one point. We still spend reasonably big, but try to do it more sensibly and get players who can come in to work alongside the younger players. The likes of Woodgate and O'Neill, English players that won't mess the club about, and be good role models for the Academy players. Unfortunately we've not managed to replace Yakubu and Viduka (yet) which has hurt us. Out of the millions.. which is the best player you have bought from us? I think Southgate, Ugo (when he was fit) and Boateng all had a really big impact for us. Although he looks as though he's past his best now, Boateng has been a rock in the midfield, so I'd say him.
