Posted by Aston Villa Nil: How long have you supported the Blues? 18 years What are your hopes for the Blues over this season? Staying up and not losing to villa over the 2 games What memories do you have of your first ever Blues/Villa derby? John Frain missing a penalty in the league cup game in around '94 - and not being given another pen after Dalian Atkinson's (i think!!!) poor challenge Who should the Villa be most wary of in the Blues team on Sunday? Their own goalkeeper usually!! Who do you think will be the danger man for Villa? Ashley Young - could give our full back the run-around How do you view the rivalry between the two clubs? one of the biggest dislikes in British football of 2 local teams What are your views on the local press in the run-up to derby games? Always looking for a player to open their big trap (usually Mellberg or O'Dreary) How do you see the next 5 seasons unfolding in terms of both clubs? Couldn't tell you what will happen in the next 5 months down the blues!! And finally, what do you think the score will be on Sunday? 1-0 Blues - with plenty of Alamo defending!!

Posted by Aff: How long have you supported the Blues? From the cradle but my first game was in Dec '91. We won 3-1 versus Fulham. What are your hopes for the Blues over this season? Staying up although in all honesty, I didn't mind our jaunt to the lower-league as painful as some. The Premiership's full of money grubbing, me-me-me tarts. What memories do you have of your first ever Blues/Villa derby? Paul Tait pushing someone (Richardson?) into the crowd... Dean Saunders' offside goal Who should the Villa be most wary of in the Blues team on Sunday? Olivier Kapo, Cameron Jerome... David Gold and his threat of physical violence to the General! Who do you think will be the danger man for Villa? Carew... how you managed to trade him for that donkey Baros, I'll never know. How do you view the rivalry between the two clubs? I grew up in the northern suburbs. Going to school in the northern suburbs of Brum when Villa were playing in Europe and we were farting around in the old Third division wasn't easy. I cherish every win over the claret and blue. Gareth Southgate made my life so much easier by letting the country down in 1996! What are your views on the local press in the run-up to derby games? To be honest, I've avoided a lot of it this time around. Which is probably quite lazy for a football blogger. How do you see the next 5 seasons unfolding in terms of both clubs? Unfortunately, it looks as though Randy's in there for the long haul. I was hoping he'd bought up to strip you bare and build a car park where Villa Park is. No such luck. As for us, we'll have to see what happens in December before any of can make a reasonable guess. And finally, what do you think the score will be on Sunday? Blues 3-0 Villa - Always think with the heart... Let's just hope that there's no trouble in or outside the ground prior to, during or after the game. If you're going to Stan's, have a safe trip.

Posted by Jay: How long have you supported the Blues? Since I was about 7, I used to be mad on Liverpool until I was about 9 though, simply because of Michael Owen, after I was about 7 though my Dad started taking me to Blues games and eventually I was a true blue. What are your hopes for the Blues over this season? 17th, 4 Points off Villa. What memories do you have of your first ever Blues/Villa derby? How can I forget a certain Mr.Enkelman. Best derby ever. Who should the Villa be most wary of in the Blues team on Sunday? Captain Marvel. Who do you think will be the danger man for Villa? Ashley Young, brilliant player. How do you view the rivalry between the two clubs? I hate Aston Villa as a football club, but have a few mates who I can be civil with and have a joke in the vuild-up. But I do hate Aston Villa - It's the real deal. What are your views on the local press in the run-up to derby games? Hyped to the max, which I enjoy. How do you see the next 5 seasons unfolding in terms of both clubs? It really depends on the next 2 I think. And finally, what do you think the score will be on Sunday? 2-1 to the Pride of Birmingham.

Posted by merseypete: How long have you supported the Blues? 52 years. What are your hopes for the Blues over this season? A bit better than mere survival. But survival would be OK. What memories do you have of your first ever Blues/Villa derby? Not sure of the first one but I recall Ken Leek scoring twice in a 3-2 win at St Andrews. Argus headline - 'Leek plugs Villa'. Took me ages to get that one. Who should the Villa be most wary of in the Blues team on Sunday? Kapo. Palacios could be interesting if he plays. Who do you think will be the danger man for Villa? Abongahor. Is that right? Pace, especially if he strays down the wings, might bother us. How do you view the rivalry between the two clubs? I'm a bit remote from it nowadays and I'm not sure I go along with 'hating' other fans any more. The website these questions came from is full of nauseating playground abuse and obscenities that go well beyond banter. J and S never sinks to these depths. Educated abuse here. What are your views on the local press in the run-up to derby games? Not applicable. I'm an exile. How do you see the next 5 seasons unfolding in terms of both clubs? I like O'Neill I'm afraid but he hasn't been quite the instant hit I feared. Can't see him doing other than pretty well, unfortunately. For us, a lot depends on the new owners. I think Bruce has got more to give yet, so with more backing I think we'll do well. And finally, what do you think the score will be on Sunday? 2-0 to Blues of course. Unless your goalie has a blinder; 3-0 then.

Posted by NatJPeters: How long have you supported the Blues? Since my dad said I'd sleep in the shed if I did anything else What are your hopes for the Blues over this season? To beat you lot, then to stay up What memories do you have of your first ever Blues/Villa derby? Mellberg throws it to Enckleman...you know the rest. The grea-*test*-('") night of my life in many respects Who should the Villa be most wary of in the Blues team on Sunday? Olivier Kapo has scored 3-in-2. That form might just carry. Who do you think will be the danger man for Villa? Ashley Young directly against Queudrue scares me. It will be the cheetah being chased by a tortoise. How do you view the rivalry between the two clubs? There is things I dislike, things I very much dislike, and then there is Aston Villa. In my view it does'nt get worse than supporting Aston Villa. Your managers-I cant stand usually (Martin O'Neill is a huge exception), your players are cretins (Olof Mellberg). I cant stand you fans-dont actually get on with them as people either. The up-and-down is that as a football club Aston Villa are the opposite of Birmingham City in everywhichway. What are your views on the local press in the run-up to derby games? That the coverage is fantastic. How do you see the next 5 seasons unfolding in terms of both clubs? Blues cant really look any further than Christmas before deciding how the next 5 years might be with Mr Yeung's takeover deadline then. Villa's future depends on this season and next and the success that O'Neill can deliver. And finally, what do you think the score will be on Sunday? 3-0 Birmingham City

Posted by Kaje: How long have you supported the Blues? Since roughly '91 when I first started noticing football and asked to be taken along with my dad and grandad! What are your hopes for the Blues over this season? Consolidation of our Premier League status, nothing more, nothing less. Once we're safe we can build on it for the future. What memories do you have of your first ever Blues/Villa derby? My first one was back in our return season in the Premiership where we won 3-0 with that lovely Enkelman goal! I've never felt an atmosphere like it at St. Andrews either before that game or since. Who should the Villa be most wary of in the Blues team on Sunday? Kapo and Palacios. Kapo has a superb footballing brain and can read the game 10 seconds before the majority. Palacios is still an unknown quantity and really does pull off some fantastic plays. He's also very much up for Sunday and has begged to play! Who do you think will be the danger man for Villa? Carew - knows where the goal is and can certainly score. But whether he can last longer than 60 minutes remains to be seen! How do you view the rivalry between the two clubs? To be honest, I dislike the intensity of it. I like having the rivalry in the sense that it's a game to look forward to, a chance to win the bragging rights for a while, but many Blues fans seem to really hate Villa fans and vice versa. To a worrying extent. I feel that this is more to do with this very strange attitude that many Villa fans have. They seem to think that they are better than us, a better club, a better set of fans. They harp on about past glories and fail to actually realise that in recent years they've done just as little as Blues. What are your views on the local press in the run-up to derby games? It's always Villa biased to be honest. Especially from the Evening Mail. Oh and Olof Mellberg always seems to butt in and say something idiotic. I just hope Bruce puts whatever drivel Mellberg spouts up on the dressing room wall. There'd be no need for a team talk. How do you see the next 5 seasons unfolding in terms of both clubs? I feel that Blues will stay up and progress to a mid table side whilst Villa will pretty much stay mid table to top half. It might all change if Yeung really is as good as he says he is, but we'll have to wait and see. I can't see either club winning anything any time soon, the 'big 3' are just too powerful. And finally, what do you think the score will be on Sunday? My head says 2-0 Villa, my heart says 2-0 Blues. Or thereabouts

Posted by Connorcam: How long have you supported the Blues? 13 years What are your hopes for the Blues over this season? Survival. We should be ok due to the very poor teams below us. What memories do you have of your first ever Blues/Villa derby? Aside from the obvious, the crowd on that day were amazing. Easily the best atmosphere I've ever experienced; saying the ground was rocking is an understatement. Who should the Villa be most wary of in the Blues team on Sunday? Daniel De Ridder is by far the player with the most quality at our club. Has the ability to hold his own playing for the big 4 in my opinion. Who do you think will be the danger man for Villa? Ashley Young or Abonglahor How do you view the rivalry between the two clubs? It's not as big as some rivalries, such as Celtic vs. Rangers, but there is still a large one. Have a few Viler mates, so we always have a bit of banter between us. What are your views on the local press in the run-up to derby games? Nothing wrong with it. How do you see the next 5 seasons unfolding in terms of both clubs? Come back to me in January about that one, everything depends on a certain Mr. Yeung taking over the club. And finally, what do you think the score will be on Sunday? 2-2

Posted by britty: How long have you supported the Blues? About 10 years What are your hopes for the Blues over this season? Anything from 17th upwards What memories do you have of your first ever Blues/Villa derby? Am I allowed to say Enckleman!!! Who should the Villa be most wary of in the Blues team on Sunday? Ridgewell - ex players always have a habit of coming back to haunt you. Andy Johnson did it against us on his return to St Andrews, hopefully Ridgewell will do it to the Villa Who do you think will be the danger man for Villa? Agbonlahor - he has got pace and power, something which are defence has struggled with over the past few years How do you view the rivalry between the two clubs? One of the best in the Country What are your views on the local press in the run-up to derby games? I think they get it spot on! How do you see the next 5 seasons unfolding in terms of both clubs? Blues - they are going to be a struggle, it is so easy to slip back into the championship, even established teams can get sucked into the relegation fight, so I hope the next 5 years are premiership ones. Villa - My heart says relegated every year and be slumming it in the conference, but my head says they will be dissapointed if they are not fighting for Europe And finally, what do you think the score will be on Sunday? Blues 2- 2 Villa It will be close and there will be twists and turns and a last minute equaliser from Ridgewell!

Posted by Heather's Dad: How long have you supported the Blues? Over 40 years. What are your hopes for the Blues over this season? 15th place, not to capitulate to anyone, and take 6pts off Villa. What memories do you have of your first ever Blues/Villa derby? I have a couple - walking to VP in the pouring rain in the early 80's, and getting absolutely soaked as we lost 1-0. Then the 3-0 Boxing Day victory, standing on a packed Kop. Who should the Villa be most wary of in the Blues team on Sunday? Ridgewell. 'nuff said. Who do you think will be the danger man for Villa? I'm surprised nobody has mention Barry already - is he not playing? I think he's a very good player and am pleased to see him doing well for England. How do you view the rivalry between the two clubs? I've mellowed over the years, but it's still the game I want us to win more than any other. 6 points off the Villa or an FA cup semi-final against Halifax? 6 points every time!! What are your views on the local press in the run-up to derby games? I don't get to see it, it doesn't get a mention in the Shropshire Star! How do you see the next 5 seasons unfolding in terms of both clubs? Blues at the Nou Camp in the Champions League final, Villa in the Unibond league. Then I wake up. And finally, what do you think the score will be on Sunday? A 0-0 scrap.

Nizone- 11-08-2007

Not meaning to take the piss here, I think it is quite clear from the replies so far that Birmingham are a team happy to finish in the bottom 3 as long as they take all 6 points from Villa.............fair play to them, I am sure if we were a club with less ambition we would be the same (sorry)..........I am sure the banter from now until Sunday will continue......lets hope whatever team you support it does stay as Banter...............after all it is only a game of football    Hey my wife has a tendency to follow Blues....but I still have sex with her :hehe: :hehe: :hehe:

Aff- 11-09-2007

I think it is quite clear from the replies so far that Birmingham are a team happy to finish in the bottom 3 as long as they take all 6 points from Villa Apart from the fact that every reply says that survival is the one thing they'd take from this season, you mean? Hello everyone, by the way! I be Aff, I run Joys & Sorrows.
