Sunderland Stadium Of Light Sunderland moved to the Stadium Of Light, which is truly magnificent, in 1997 after they left Roker Park, where they had been for over 99 years.
The away fans are in the South Stand at one end of the stadium, with the allocation being around 3,000. The the PA system is deafening when the classical piece 'Dance Of The Knights' from Prokofiev's 'Romeo & Juliet' is played before the players come onto the pitch and then when the players come out onto the pitch they play a bit of U2's 'Elevation'.
If you wanna drink, you can go to the town centre or go to 'The Albion pub on Victor Street, off Roker Avenue and about 5 minute walk to the ground itself.
I've only been there once when we won, can't remember what the score was but Super Kev scored that day. Nice ground but the PA system is loud. I'm surprised you dont go deaf.

I love the loud PA system, makes it so much more intimidating. I wish our PA was like this. The atmosphere is excellent. And alcohol at £2.60.
