Liverpool - Anfield Anfield currently has a capacity of 45,400, although there are current plans in the pipeline for a New Anfield, which will reportedly have a greater attendance than Old Trafford, and present ticket prices are roughly in the region of £30 for home supporters £34 for away supporters.
Anfield isn’t (IMO) a particularly overwhelming stadium as you approach it, but it is steeped in history and is always an enjoyable trip (albeit we mostly lose there!!). Of note at the ground itself is of course the Gates on Anfield Road and the Hillsborough memorial.
Inside the ground, the view for away supporters can be slightly limited – particularly if you get one of the infamous ‘restricted view’ seats. The atmosphere is always pretty good though, from both sets of supporters. To see the Liverpool fans with scarves singing THAT song is always a sight to behold.
In terms of pubs at Anfield, the obvious choice is the Arkles. An excellent pub within a short stagger of the ground. There are a few Liverpool supporters who drink here, but in the main, it is always full of away supporters. It does get very, very full though, so you have to get there early or you wont get in. If memory serves me correct, the away end at Liverpool doesn’t serve alcohol either.
I’ve always found Liverpool supporters to be a good laugh and have never encountered any problems there (apart from a certain incident in the Arkles involving a couple of old women … bod_banana and Sokko will remember this for sure!).
Had some excellent away trips in the past and the Arkles and Anfield will always be amongst those.

Liverpool away..... top three highlights (in no particular order) :-
1) Watching the Pink Panther down a bottle of Newcy Brown in one go in the Arkles....through his eye. FA Cup quarter final, can't remember exactly when but in the 90's.
2) Being three nil down after eight minutes - the Fowler and McManaman show if I remember correctly.
3) The (aforementioned) incident involving the old scouser ladies, bod_banana and a particular ditty about Graeme Souness and Bill Shankley....
Oh yeah....I wonder if they ever got their dart board back?
:hehe: :hehe: :hehe:

:lmao:
Agreed.
The fancy dress day involving the Newcy Brown will stay with me forever.
As will the sight of the guy walking out the door with the dartboard under his arm.
The time we were 3-0 down, didn't we play them like twice in a week (league and cup) and were 3-0 down early on both times?
And the Graeme Souness song ......... he taught it me. :lmao:

Absolute classic. It still makes me cry even now.
Do you remember that old bag's comments about Gary Lineker's son though?

I think that is why we retaliated with the Souness song. That and the fact that he is a Scottish twat with a bad tache who used to play for the redscouse.
