Arsenal - Emirates Stadium The four-tiered Emirates Stadium, which opened in 2006, has a capacity of 60,432 (although the allocation for away supporters is still only around 3,000). Away supporters get the lower tier in the corner of the stadium. The view is good and the seats are very nice; padded with lots of leg room. :D
They also sell alcohol for away supporters, which last season was £3.20 a pint. :|
I believe the ticket price is somewhere in the region of £32 to £46, which is expensive but I’m slightly happier to pay this kind of amount for a ground like this.
The approach to the ground in particular is very special, and the ground from the outside is certainly much more impressive than the inside, IMO.
I’ve always liked the Arsenal supporters, never had a problem with them, unlike their rivals who I de-*test*-('"). I have particularly fond memories of the season we finished second behind Manchester United, when we played Arsenal about ten games from the end of the season and they were singing champions to us and clapping us … only for Manchester United to go on to win the league with the infamous added time incident … but that’s another story.
There are lots of pubs to choose from, some pretty decent ones as well, which makes a change for London. My own personal favourite is the Lord Nelson on the main Holloway Road, an Irish pub with excellent beer and some great live acts on the night … when I say great, I mean that in the loosest possible sense. :hehe:
Last season, we also went in the Wetherspoons pub on the Holloway Road – I can’t remember the name though (I’m sure someone else can help!). This was also a good pub, although they are a bit funny about letting away supporters in … we managed to hide our colours well enough to get past the bouncers on the door. They were obviously quite slow in detecting local accents. :mrh:
And of course, we will go down in history as being the first team to play Arsenal in a competitive football game at the Emirates.

Aston Villa also have the distinction of having the first goal scorer at the stadium.
It is a good looking stadium, for a visiting supporter, not so hot for the home fans with the split terraces, but that didn't affect us.
It was nice to be the first premiership team to play there, as usual we were shoved in a corner of the ground, but the view was excellent, and as H said, the seats were soft and comfortable, and the beer not too bad.
A couple of pictures I took.....
I believe this is the Weatherspoons we went in after the game H, with pretend cockney accents :hehe:

The pub looks familiar but I'd never have come up with that name ...
I remembered something really funny that happened in the Nelson before the game but I can't say on here. :lmao:
